Stomra with your AI assistant
Stomra is a building information modelling tool in the browser. The Stomra connector lets the assistant you already use, such as Claude or ChatGPT, work in your own Stomra projects, with your rights and no more.
1. What it does
- Answers questions about a model: what stands on a level, wall types and their layers, slab thicknesses, rooms and areas, timber framing, steel joints, precast elements, and what changed between versions.
- Reads drawings and sheets, and takes 2D and 3D pictures of the model.
- Builds and changes the model when you ask: walls, slabs, roofs, beams, columns, openings, grids, levels, views and sheets.
- Exports sheets as PDF, the model as IFC, drawings as DXF, and reports.
2. What to ask
- Summarise my Stomra project: its levels, the main elements and what changed in the last version.
- List the rooms on level 1 with their areas, and point out any bedroom under 7 m².
- Make a 3D picture of the building from the south-west, and a plan of level 1.
- Add 200 mm concrete walls along grid lines A to D on level 1, 3 m high.
- Export all sheets of the project as one PDF.
3. Connect it
- Address

- You sign in with your Stomra account and press Allow.
- You need
- A Stomra account, and in Claude any plan, in ChatGPT Plus or higher. For the assistant to change anything, draw a picture or make a file, keep Stomra open in a browser tab while it works.
- In Claude: Customize → Connectors, press + and choose Add custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan an owner adds it, under Organization settings → Connectors.
- In ChatGPT (on the web, with a paid plan): Settings → Security and login, switch on Developer mode. Then in Plugins press + and create an app.
- Name it Stomra, give it the address above and add it. Then press Connect, sign in with your Stomra account and press Allow.
Something in the way? Connector troubleshooting says what each message means.
4. How the work goes
- Most reading works from the project's saved state, with no Stomra tab open. Changes, pictures and exports are made in your open tab, where you see them happen.
- The assistant's tools come in two kinds. Those that read change nothing. Those that change something are marked so, and your assistant can ask you before it uses them.
- Every change is checked like your own edits and goes into the project's history: Undo in Stomra takes it back.
- Stomra's guide for assistants says to send a client a link only when you ask for it, and to show you first who gets it and what it shows.
- To stop: close your tab, remove Stomra in the assistant, or remove the assistant in Stomra. Disconnect an assistant says where.
5. What it reads and keeps
Stomra has no AI of its own and sends your work to no AI provider. The assistant sees only the projects you can see, with your rights on each. What it reads goes to the provider of the assistant you connected, under that provider's terms.
Stomra logs each call by the tool's name, the shape of its arguments, the size of its answer, its time and the assistant's name, with no project content. The Privacy Policy, section 3, has it in full.
